More Information

My Duo for Bb Clarinet and Cello was completed in early 2007.  It consists of two contrasting movements.  The first is slow, rhapsodic, and expressive.  It is influenced by the organum purim of Leonin and Perotin of the medieval period.  The music is entirely in the diatonic of C yet explores the more dissonant areas of this key.  The second movement, in stark contrast with the first, is fast, metric, and freely chromatic.

Movement I premiered March 18, 2007 by Heather Tillman-clarinet, and Sarah Gardner-cello at Baldwin Wallace University, Berea, OH.

Complete work premiered July 2008 by Antje Hoffman-clarinet, and Magdalena Watcher-cello, in Leipzig, Germany.
